About BIS

Building Industry Services started as an idea by two college friends that thought we could help bridge the gap between contractors and specialty products in the commercial construction industry.

Derek Ezzell has a wealth of knowledge in different industries over the past 35 plus years including agriculture, financial services (including banking, accounting, investments, insurance, and mortgages), and construction industry in residential and commercial. He is currently an Intermediate Residential Licensed General Contractor in NC and is an active applicant for the Specialty License-Metal Erector General Contractor in NC. He spent most of his career forging banking relationships with people all over North Carolina living in the surrounding Raleigh area, Southeastern Coastal area and Charlotte Metropolitan area.

He is an avid UNC fan having graduated from UNC Chapel Hill class of 1989 with Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and Finance. He is generally active in weightlifting, traveling, paddle boarding and golfing. He lives in Concord, NC with his wife and two sons, Jack and Max.
